Spring 2013 Diploma Ceremony Planned for May 10th
The NC State University Computer Science Department will hold its spring diploma ceremony on Friday, May 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary at Providence Baptist Church, located at 6339 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh (directions).We are honored to have alumnus Nate Johnson (BS CSC 2000), meteorologist and executive producer at WRAL-TV, serve as our keynote speaker.
In addition to his responsibilities at WRAL-TV, Johnson is also an instructor in the Department of Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences at NC State. Prior to moving to Raleigh, he was a data services meteorologist with Baron Services in Huntsville, Alabama, and previously, chief meteorologist at KTXS-TV in Abilene, TX. He holds bachelor's degrees in meteorology and computer science from NC State and expects to complete a master's degree in communication later this year. Approximately 200 graduates are expected to receive their degrees during the ceremony.

NOTE TO GRADUATES: For the benefit of relatives and friends who may not be able to attend the event in person, the event will be available online via live video streaming at http://go.ncsu.edu/csc-diploma (This link will be activated closer to the date of the diploma ceremony.). Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari are recommended for viewing the live streaming of the ceremony.
There are several ways to commemorate this special occasion. As each graduate is handed his/her diploma, a professional photographer will take his/her picture. A free color proof will be sent to each graduate’s current mailing address, including a password for online viewing. There is no obligation to purchase prints. In addition, Providence Baptist Church provides ample free parking, comfortable accommodations, and professional AV capabilities allowing for live broadcast of the ceremony from multiple cameras angles.
