Our vision for departmental outreach is one in which faculty, staff and students

• engage in research and educational collaborations hat enable university initiatives;
• contribute to multidisciplinary centers, institutes and laboratories;
• transfer technology via collaborations with other academic, government and industrial institutions;
• contribute to the research community via activities including conference organizing committees, editorial boards, standards committees and national academies; and
• organize and participate in programs that inspire social understanding and interest in computing.
