Chuck Kesler, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Chuck Kesler is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Pendo, a venture-backed software company headquartered in Raleigh whose mission is to improve the world's experience with software. Throughout his 30+ year career, he has held a variety of leadership and technical roles in both cybersecurity and IT. Prior to joining Pendo in 2018, he served as CISO for Duke University Health System. His past experience also included managing Symantec’s Security Advisory Services consulting practice in the US.
Chuck received an MBA and BS in Physics from NC State University, and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon's CISO Certificate Program. He also holds multiple security industry certifications, including the CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, and CCSK.
Chuck is a frequent speaker at regional and national security conferences. He is currently a member of the RSAC Program Committee, and also volunteers his time to help organize local security events with NC PaCE, BSides RDU, DefCon919, and the Raleigh ISSA chapter. He is passionate about increasing the diversity of the cybersecurity industry, and has served as an executive sponsor for Pendo's DEI program.
In addition to being an NC State graduate himself, Chuck's wife is a graduate of the Civil Engineering program, and their son is currently a student in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
