Claris Castillo-Singh, Founder, CEO & CTO
Claris Castillo Singh is a proud Latina who was born in Panama, Central America. She is the CEO, CTO, and Founder of Humegy Corporation, a tech startup based in North Carolina. The company is working on developing AI + IoT healthcare technology to promote mental health and well-being by increasing interaction between humans and nature. Prior to this, Claris has held key positions at UNC-Chapel Hill and IBM Research, where she drove cloud innovation to accelerate scientific research and pioneered some of the first IBM cloud technology market offerings. She is a prolific researcher with over 25 publications, and has earned several patents and awards, including invention achievement and high-value patent awards.
Claris is also a proud member of the Wolfpack. She has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of Computer Science of NC State and has received a Master's in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at NC State.
Claris is passionate about pursuing initiatives that serve the global good and is driven to pursue innovations with impact. She currently resides in Cary with her husband, two children, and many plants.
