Rouskas Named 2023-24 CSC Person of Exceptional Performance (PEP)
The NC State Department of Computer Science is pleased to present the 2023-24 “Person of Exceptional Performance” (PEP) Award to Dr. George Rouskas, Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor and Director of Graduate Programs. The PEP Award, launched by the department in 2018, is intended to recognize faculty or staff who have exhibited truly outstanding performance, contributing significantly to the department’s success as role models for what it means to ‘think and do the extraordinary’. Department Stalwart, Matt Stallmann to Retire After Four Decades of Service
Highly renowned and respected professor and Assistant Director of Graduate Programs, Dr. Matthias (Matt) Stallmann, will enter phased retirement effective July 1st, after 40 years of faithful service to the department. Read More »
Tillmans Establish Scholarship Endowment
The Department of Computer Science (CSC) is pleased to announce that CSC alum and recent Alumni Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Tillman (BS CSC ‘03) and his wife Courtney (BS ChemE ‘03), have made a generous donation to establish the Tillman Family CLIMB Scholarship endowment to support future generations of engineering and computer science students at NC State University. The awards will target first generation students to attend college, who have a demonstrated interest in creating and promoting equal opportunities for all in the field of engineering, and/or who have demonstrated experience living or working in diverse environments. Select Departmental Gifts & Support
Google has provided $10,000 to the department in support of the ePartners Program and the Sr Design Center.
Vote Owl has provided $7,500 to the department in support of the Sr Design Center.
Microsoft has provided $5,000 to the department in support of Dr. Dongkuan (DK) Xu, as part of the Microsoft Accelerating Foundation Models Research (AFMR) Award announced recently.
Alum, David Perkins (BS CSC ‘77) has donated $20,000 to the department to support the Ken Tate Scholarship for Student Success in Computer Science.
