Rothermel Named Distinguished University Professor
Dr. Gregg Rothermel has been named Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University, an honor reserved for NC State's most exceptional scholars. Rothermel, who is considered one of the top software engineering researchers in the world, is Computer Science Department Head. Read More »

The department mourns the passing of Mary Jane Lee (1945-2024). Mary Jane dedicated much of her career to academia, serving as an Assistant Professor of computer science at North Carolina State University and Northern Arizona University, before joining California State University, Sacramento. There, she excelled as an Associate Dean of the Engineering and Computer Science department (nine years), and served as Professor of computer science until her full retirement in 2019.
