Assunção Wins Distinguished Paper Award at IEEE SANER Conference
Congratulations to Dr. Wesley K. G. Assunção and his co-authors on recently winning the IEEE Computer Society TCSE Distinguished Paper Award at the 31st IEEE International Conference on Software Analysis, Evolution and Reengineering (SANER 2024). Ecstatic - Yet Subdued - Family Celebration
For 37 consecutive tournaments, David Kivett (CSC ’87) has volunteered as a stats runner, media liaison and internet and technology specialist for the Atlantic Coast Conference men’s basketball tournament. Over the years, his wife and kids have joined the effort. Collectively, the Kivetts have five NC State degrees and almost 100 years of volunteering at the tournament between them. None of them, however, had ever seen the Wolfpack win an ACC men’s title until this year. Read More »
Select Departmental Gifts & Support
Cirrus Logic has provided $10,752 to the department in support of the Cirrus Logic Scholarship for Diverse Leaders in Computer Science, as part of a larger gift to the College of Engineering.
Thank you to all our alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff who donated to the 2024 NC State Annual ‘Day of Giving’. CSC received a record 122 gifts totaling $27,543, including a most generous $10,000 challenge gift from CSC alum, Tony Brown, which was activated when we hit 100 gifts!

Spring 2024 Carla Savage Award Winners Announced - Congratulations to Dr. Zhishan Guo, Dr. Dongkuan (DK) Xu, and Mr. Parvez Rashid who were named the Spring 2024 winners of The Carla Savage Award for their exceptional contributions to the NC State Department of Computer Science. Read More »
Goodnight Scholarships Select Finalists for Class of 2028 - The 102 finalists were selected from a pool of candidates from across North Carolina and represent 84 high schools, 45 counties and six NC State academic colleges. Ten percent of the finalists intend to pursue a degree in computer science! Read More »
We are saddened to report of the recent passing of Dr. Rance Cleaveland, Associate Dean for Research, College of Computing, Mathematical and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland. He served as a member of the NC State computer science faculty from 1989 to 1998.
Dr. Will Enck has been elected as the next Vice President of the USENIX Board of Directors. Previously, he has served as Secretary and a Director at Large. The USENIX Association is dedicated to supporting the advanced computing systems communities and furthering the reach of innovative research.
We welcome Ellie Piloso as a new specialist on our Contracts and Grants team. We are very excited to have her join our team!

Personalized Job Search Agent in ePack
If you are a CSC student or recent graduate (within 12 months post-graduation) and would like to receive email notifications when new jobs are posted on ePack matching your profile, you can set up your own customized job search agent to receive just the postings you desire (intern vs. full time, etc). For a short video tutorial on how to create your own personalized job agent, click here.
The Alumni Association has partnered with the University Career Development Center to make ePACK available to NC State alumni. If you are a current Alumni Association member, update your online profile by visiting the Wolfpack Connect (alumni directory) and click on the ‘Update My Info’ tab on the upper right side of the page. Select the ‘Career Connections’ tab and then choose ‘yes’ beside the question, ‘Do you want access to ePACK?’
To access ePACK you must be a member of the Alumni Association and you must be an alumnus/alumnae of NC State. If you are not a member of the Alumni Association, you can join online. Once you have received an email confirming your membership, you will be able to register for access to ePACK.
