Applying Augmented Reality to Caterpillar Vehicles
Dr. Ben Watson, associate professor of computer science at NC State, has been awarded $10,000 by Caterpillar, Inc. to support his research proposal entitled “Design Research for Augmented Reality Applications to Caterpillar Vehicles.”
The award will run from January 7, 2019 to December 31, 2019
Abstract – This course project will investigate two applications of augmented reality to Caterpillar vehicles: an augmented dashboard that can flexibly change appearance to suit current needs, and a transparent bucket that lets operators see through it, to improve safety and productivity.
