Young Promotes HI-FIVES Initiative on Capitol Hill
Dr. Michael Young, assistant professor of computer science, visited Capitol Hill on February 7th, meeting with staff from the offices of Senator Elizabeth Dole and Representative Brad Miller.
Along with colleague Dr. Len Annetta from the NCSU College of Education, Young briefed the staffers on the HI-FIVES project, which leverages the power of computer games in middle and high school curricula to engage students in science and mathematics.

Young was in DC to attend the National Science Foundation's Summit on Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST), the program that funds HI-FIVES along with 50 other projects nationwide.
