Savage Research Featured in Notices of the American Mathematical Society
Dr. Carla Savage’s research on Symmetric Venn Diagrams was featured in the December 2006 issue of Notices of the American Mathematical Society.In addition to the feature article entitled “The Search for Simple Symmetric Venn Diagrams” (link), the work of Savage and her colleagues was featured on the magazine’s cover.
A key contributor to the research was Charles (Chip) Killian, who worked on the project as an undergraduate while at NC State, double-majoring in computer science and mathematics. Killian is now pursuing his Ph.D. in computer science at the University of California at San Diego.
Articles about the first phase of the Symmetric Venn Diagram Project have appeared in Science (link to NCSU story) and in SIAM News (link).
"Notices" is the membership journal of the American Mathematical Society, published monthly and distributed to 30,000 AMS members worldwide.
