Corporate Friend, Hewlett-Packard (HP) has donated two Itanium Montecito Multi-Core SMP servers to support the research of Dr. Frank Mueller, associate professor of computer science at NC State University.
The equipment donation is valued at over $42,000.
The award was made by HP’s University Relations Department in support of the Gelato Federation, an international, collaborative Itanium Linux consortium dedicated to creating and sharing open-source solutions for high performance technical computing problems.
Mueller will use the equipment to aid in his research on "Trace-Guided Page Migration and Program Parallelization.”
