Student Teams Perform Well at ACM Mid-Atlantic Programming Contest

Congratulations to our two student teams for their strong showing at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest.

The team consisting of Aaron Jordan, Yusuf Simonson, and Mike Winters placed 6th in the region, while the team consisting of Casey Dahlin, Michael Kolbas, and Patrick Wong received an honorable mention.

Both teams were coached by Dr. Thomas Honeycutt.

The Mid-Atlantic Region was held at Duke University on October 27th. The top competitors in the region will go on to compete in the international competition next April in Banff, Alberta Canada.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, sponsored by IBM, fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure.  It is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world.
