NC Gaming Contingency Goes West
Dr. R. Michael Young, associate professor of computer science at NC State University and co-director of the Digital Games Research Center, is doing his part to help increase the exposure of our region’s growing reputation as a gaming center.
Young recently attended the Game Developers' Conference (GDC) in San Francisco where he, along Dr. Tim Buie, assistant professor of industrial design, and Ruthann Cage, NC State’s Interim Director of Economic Development Partnership, helped staff the Wake County booth on the conference's Expo Floor. The GDC is the games industry's largest annual conference and was attended this year by over 16,000 games industry professionals.
Young also participated in the International Game Developers' Association's Education Summit, a two-day workshop prior to GDC focusing on courses, curriculum and programs for post-secondary games education.
