Senior Design Center
For more than 25 years, the Senior Design Center (SDC) has connected student teams with corporate sponsors to solve real-world challenges. This collaboration provides meaningful results for both students and sponsors, culminating each semester with the Posters and Pies celebration, where students present their project outcomes.
Students consistently rate their Senior Design experience as a highlight of their academic career. The program offers valuable hands-on experience while helping students develop essential project management, teamwork and communication skills — critical in today’s highly interactive workplace.
How It Works
Each semester, companies across the nation provide real-world learning experiences for our students.
- You provide a problem statement and a mentor to guide the team.
- We provide talented students selected to match the needs of your project.
- Under the guidance of SDC staff, student teams:
- Follow an established software development methodology
- Develop project documentation
- Present regular project reviews
This partnership creates a true win-win situation — companies receive fresh insights and solutions, and students gain critical leadership, collaboration and communication experience.
Sponsorship Details
- The sponsorship fee for a Senior Design Center project is $7,500 per project.
- Sponsorship helps cover essential SDC staff salaries and operational expenses.
- Sponsors are secured by:
- August 15 for the fall semester
- December 15 for the spring semester
- Limited opportunities may be available for summer session projects.
