Bio

Jane Matthews is the Associate Director of Graduate Career Services in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University. She supports graduate students in their professional development and career planning, offering guidance on job search strategies, interview preparation, résumé and CV writing, and career transitions.

Matthews collaborates with faculty, employers, and campus partners to connect students with meaningful career opportunities in academia, industry, and government. She brings extensive experience in higher education advising and a strong commitment to student success.

Prior to joining NC State, Matthews served as Associate Director of Employer Relations in the Office of Career Planning at Meredith College, where she built sustainable partnerships between students and employers. She also held roles as Assistant Director of Employer Relations and Assistant Director of Career Development, contributing significantly to the career services offered to students.

Matthews holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Counselor Education with a focus on College Student Development and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication, both from NC State University. Her educational background and professional experience underscore her dedication to supporting students’ career aspirations.
