Bio

Kenya Oduor is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University. She is a human-centered researcher, strategist and solution designer with more than 20 years of experience spanning industry, consulting and academia.

Oduor’s expertise includes ethnographic research, user interviews, iterative experience design and design validation. She specializes in evaluating and designing complex systems, applying Design Thinking and human-centered design principles to improve tools, processes and technologies used in work and other complex tasks.

She is Pragmatic Marketing® Certified and has completed Agile ScrumMaster® and Product Owner® training. Oduor collaborates with product managers and development teams to identify market needs and translate them into actionable workflows and wireframes. Her approach emphasizes early and continuous user engagement to test and refine concepts efficiently.

Oduor earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Human Factors/Experimental Psychology from NC State University in 2006 and 2003, respectively, and her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1997.

In addition to her academic role, she is the founder and CEO of Lean Geeks, a research and design firm based in Morrisville, NC, where she partners with organizations to enhance user research, solution definition and design practices.
