Carla Savage Awards
The NC State Computer Science Department created the Carla Savage Awards to honor faculty, staff and students who go above and beyond in service, research, teaching or leadership, recognizing achievements such as securing major grants, excelling in departmental projects, or providing exceptional support.
Named after Dr. Carla Savage—a distinguished professor recognized internationally for her research in algorithms and service to mathematics—the awards reflect her legacy of excellence and dedication. Each month, the department focuses nominations on a different group, from Ph.D. students to professors, with two winners selected through open voting. Up to 14 awards are given annually, ensuring broad recognition of outstanding contributions across the department.
