Space 2.0 – The Future of Space and Overcoming Critical Technology Challenges – “Engineering the Future to Infinity & Beyond”
Abstract:
NASA’s Artemis I mission launched on November 16, 2022, sending a crew-capable spacecraft on a 25-day journey to the Moon. The mission successfully concluded with a splashdown after traveling more than 1.3 million miles (source). As a key NASA partner, Peraton played a critical role in supporting Artemis I by operating essential communications infrastructure, including NASA’s Near Space Network (NSN) and Deep Space Network (DSN).
The space industry is experiencing a resurgence, driven by renewed excitement around future missions such as crewed travel to the Moon and Mars, along with the rapid development of next-generation space communication systems (e.g., SpaceX Starlink, OneWeb).
In this presentation, Mark Adams, Vice President of Technology and Engineering at Peraton (peraton.com), will explore the technological challenges associated with these ambitious missions. He will also highlight how companies like Peraton are collaborating with government and industry to overcome these challenges and enable the future of space exploration.
