Dr. Qiao (Georgie) Jin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at NC State University. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where she was part of the GroupLens Research Center. Her research explores how Extended Reality (XR) and AI technologies can support remote learning, collaboration, and social connection. Her work has been published in leading HCI and social computing venues, including CHI, CSCW, UIST, and IDC, and has received multiple recognitions such as a CHI Best Paper Honorable Mention, IDC Best Paper Honorable Mention, CSCW DEI Recognition, and the UIST SIC Best Toio Award.
